Gunshot wounds: After a gunshot wound, of course 911 should be called right away and pressure applied to the wound. There are many considerations depending on the location of the gunshot. If the gunshot is on an extremity, the extremity should be elevated to prevent blood loss and a tourniquet tied proximally to the wound to help prevent blood loss.
