Blood pressure: Alcohol is a risk factor for blood pressure. Drinking a lot of alcohol could increase blood pressure and should avoid it if under treatment for hypertension. One ounce of alcohol per day may be of some benefit for cardiovascular health for someone who does not have any other medical problems.
