Alcoholism: f a person is going through withdrawal after stopping alcohol use – detoxification in an inpatient setting (sometimes outpatient) may be needed. Attending a rehabilitation program (in or outpatient) is optimum. Medications may used during both detox & rehab. Basing sobriety on Alcoholics Anonymous can be effective.

Alcohol: Quitting alcohol should not be suddenly and without medical supervision . It can be done through rehabilitation centres, through Primary physicians or through metal health department ( CADS ). There are organisations like alcohol anonymous which also provide support and other kinds of help.
