Gutta Percha: A material that can easily be packed for sealing the root canal from bacterial infiltration. After the root canal treatment, further treatment is necessary to restore the tooth (such as a post & core, filling, crown).

Gutta percha: During a root canal treatment, numerous solutions and medicaments are placed inside your tooth. Some aid in debriding the canals. Some to sterilize the canals. Some help prep and dry the canals. However, the most common filling material to seal and close the canals is gutta percha. There are several forms(putty, sticks, heated, etc) and techniques to perform this function.
