Variable: In general, there is no need for a 30 yr old to consult a physician before starting an exercise program. In some cases, such as an extremely sedentary lifestyle, morbid obesity, or significant risk factors for coronary artery disease, a visit with your doctor before any new or extreme changes may be a good idea.
