Can i get narcotics for getting my wisdom teeth out?

Best not: That is a dangerous overkill that really does not help in the healing process. The best and most effective pain relief is to take 1 regular Aspirin together with 1 regular tylenol (acetaminophen) at the same time - repeat every 4 hours. This is a remarkable combination that helps the healing tissue at the site of the surgery as well as gives relief of pain.

Depends: Your dentist or surgeon who performs the removal of your wisdom tooth will prescribe the appropriate medication for you to take based on the complexity of the procedure. Some patients do well with an otc medication and will not take a narcotic pain med after surgery. Then there are other patients who would like to have a narcotic prescribed for them when they have their teeth cleaned.
