Unprotected sex?: The classic cause of pelvic infections are the usual std organisms - gonorrhea, chlamydia, etc. Risk factor, of course, would be unprotected sex. The true answer depends on what is causing these infections; have you had cultures to see what the offending pathogen is? See your doctor for evaluation if not.

Depends what kind: And your partner needs to be evaluated, but u need to see your gyn as you need an exam, blood work, ultrasound, cultures, and you may need an endometrial biopsy or possibly a laparoscopy.
