Anxiety treatment: Anxiety is a normal human emotion that enables us to respond to dangerous situations. It is caused by the mind/body reaction to events or interpretations of them that cause the brain to prepare the body to fight or flee an enemy or dangerous situation. Anxiety responses can be triggered unnecessarily leading to disorder. See your pcp about the possible need for treatment.

I don't always : Recommend medications to treat anxiety. When I do - selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and Buspar (buspirone) are at the top of the list. Benzodiazapines are often used short-term (or longer term by some) to reduce symptoms while waiting for ssri's or non-medication treatments to kick in. To address stress: talk about feelings ; address problems. Don't avoid them. Aim for 7.5 - 8 hours of sleep/ night.
