I don't recommend it: Assuming you are talking about immediately postop. . . Alcohol can dilate the blood vessels in your tonsillar wound bed and this could increase the chance of postoperative bleeding. Also if you are taking narcotics for pain control, you should avoid any type of alcohol due to concerns for too much sedation. Smoking can inflame the lining of your throat and make your recovery more difficult.
