Bad idea: Self medicating with alcohol is a bad idea. It can cause increased bleeding, bruising, swelling, liver issues and it is a bad habit. You are very young to be having so much difficulty with coping skills and stress. Consider getting help with this to improve your ability to deal with life stress.

Why chance it: Ask the surgeon to be sure, but why chance any issues with your surgery. Usually, the surgeon will require a patient to be npo (nulla per os-nothing by mouth) the night before, which would mean you should not. Good luck with your surgery.
