Dry cough: Cough that occurs longer than 4-6 weeks is considered a chronic cough. The 4 main causes of chronic cough are asthma, post nasal discharge from sinus infection or allergies and stomach acid reflux. There are many other less common causes. An allergist or pulmonologist can help you find the trigger, so effective treatment can be provided.
