Symptomatic care: Use a bulb syringe to suck the mucus out of her nose, use saline nose drops right after , take her into the wash room and let breath in the hot steam then run the vaporizer during her waking and sleeping hours. Elevate the head of her mattress, so she's sleeping on an angle. Rub vapo rub on her chest. Push fluids like tea and honey, but no milk.

Cough: It's important to know the reason your child is coughing so much. It may be as simple as a cold or allergies or more complex such as whooping cough or asthma. For allergies or post nasal drip you can try an over the counter children's formula antihistamine such as benadryl (diphenhydramine). However, if the cough persists for more than 3 days or she appears uncomfortable it is best to have her seen by a doctor.
