A member asked:

If ear drum is perforated, but the ear is impacted with wax, will a doctor try to flush it? will it make perforation worse if flushed? or keep it dry?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See an ENT: If your doctor wants to flush it when you think you may have a perforation, then go to see an ent. Flushing a perforation is not a good idea. Usually we can clean the ear from impacted wax under a microscope, once its gone, then we can determine if there is a perforation or not.
