Yes: Since the tattoo is so much darker than your skin, it can result in a greater amount of absorption of the energy. What this all means is that the tattoo can be disfigured and more importantly your skin can be burned by absorbing that much energy. It is important that the person performing the treatment does not do this over your tattoo.
