See below: Some imaging modalities are more sensitive/ accurate. A tee(transesophageal echo) or ct are probably the best means of obtaining an accurate measurement.

Document: If different techniques: cta ct mri echo there is some variability. Different sites can be a little different by a millimeter or so. Best is one place, one technique for checking enlargement. 5.5 to 6 centimeters in a good risk patient leads to intervention for ascendingmaneurysm.
