Yes: Even if the cath data or the results of other tests was all he really needed, the surgeon should have performed an exam, imo. It is poor medicine if you are a surgeon who totally relies on the exam of others.

Yes, in general: What was indication for consult? Who had already examined him? What is the suspected diagnosis? If nothing to see, feel, hear then the data may be the relevant item for the consult. In general, i still like to do personal exam of most relevant systems.
