Depends: The best medicine or treatment depends on the cause of the sore or ulcer. Some ulcers or sores are caused by irritation from some source, while others may be related to stress or from viruses. Treatment would differ for each of those types.

Best way to soothe a sore mouth?

1 doctor answer1 doctor weighed in
Dr. John Thaler
Prosthodontics 41 years experience
Depends: All depends on what is causing the soreness. Generally warm salt water rinses are soothing. Avoid spicy foods and any foods that are hard or crunchy. If it is gum tissue or ulcerations, then you need to see your dentist for evaluation , diagnosis and treatment. Avoid overuse of anesthetics (benzodent , etc.) as they can make it worse. Good luck.
