Chest pain: Without more information difficult to speculate on cause. Could be inflammation in costochondral junction or intercostal muscles but other things are also possible. To be comfortable with a diagnosis you should see your dr.

Pain in left ribs: Unless you have known heart disease, this is usually not a matter for concern. Rib pain is commonly due to an inflamed rib, medically called costo-chondritis. It may also be due to : stress, or a pulled muscle, or gastric reflux. Occasionally it can be due to a heart problem, but your description does not suggest that possibility.
