Urinary obstruction: This type problem is typically caused when their is a obstuction to the flow of urine out of the bladder. There can be many causes but a relatively common one is prostate enlargement. In any case this needs prompt medical attention, as if completely obstructed it is not only very uncomfortable but can lead to complication such as kidney failure. Should go to er.

Urgent care needed: Inability to urinate suggests obstruction in the urinary tract. Bladder infection, prostate swelling/infection and kidney stones are common possibilities, among others. You should seek urgent care with your doctor or closest urgent care clinic. Urinalysis and a blood draw will likely be necessary.
