A member asked:

What are the physical manifestations of anorexia, if any, that could be mistaken for lupus symptoms if a patient isn't forthright about eating bxs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A patient with: Combined lupus and anoerexia nervosa would be challenging. I am not sure, has she had a diagnosis of lupus? Anoerexia refers to no appetite and can be a part of illness, anoerexia nervosa is a body dysmorphic disorder, a psychiatric condition. If she is very thin and eats little while being preoccupied with calories, may be that but needs a psychiatrist. If its appetite loss it's different.
