Tragic: That is truly very sad. He clearly was unhappy and felt he could no longer live. I do hope you will get counseling if you are struggling. Suicide hurts the ones left behind the most.

Loss through suicide: Losing someone in this manner is very painful, and i'm sorry for your loss. Each person involved has his/her own experiences with the deceased; any conflict about these can surface anew. Suicide is a final pathway of great suffering. When in such a dark place it's common for the person to be extremely self-absorbed -- often too much to write a note to anyone. Grief counselors may help.

Sorry. : I am deeply sorry for your loss. I am sure the lack of a note leaves survivors of someone who commits suicide with even more questions. In such circumstances, even a few sessions of grief counseling can be of help.
