See below: Somatization disorder is a tendency to experience physical symptoms that result from underlying psychological problems. Conversion disorder is similar, but refers to a single symptom. A very high percentage of conversion disorder diagnosis is eventually found to be from a physical diagnosis that could not be identified at the time.
