Asthma: Sounds like reactive airway disease with may be allergic in nature. Some high blood pressure medicines can cause a cough as well.

Mucinex/Delsym: Many anticough medicines are available otc--such as mucinex, (guaifenesin) delsym, Robitussin etc...Since you don't really have much in term of concerning symptoms, you can try the above meds for a few days. If not better or should symptoms worsen, please then consult doc for an eval. Good luck.
