A member asked:

When i lay down i can lay on my back, right side and stomach.when i lay on my left side my guts start rumbling.im not worried but what causes this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rumbling Guts: When you lay on your left side, because of the anatomy of your gastrointestinal system, this position favors emptying of the stomach and enhances the gut's normal muscularity which is needed for movement of intestinal contents (peristalsis). This peristaltic action is what causes the "rumbling" sensation. Nothing to worry about.
