Gaining weight: The healthy way to gain weight is exercise (muscles are denser and heavier than fatty tissue) and nutritional supplements. The easiest kind of nutritional supplement to take is something like carnation instant breakfast (2-3 times a day), or produces like ensure, etc.

.: Regular healthy diet should help. You can also try health supplements like pediasure. But if not gaining weight appropriately as needed check with physician to see if there is any medical reason.

"under weight": Being underweight means your body weight is at an unhealthy low level due to disease or malnutrition. Most people who can ask a question like this via computer, unless they have an eating disorder, are not truly underweight, they are simply thin. Being thin and not having excess body fat is not unhealthy. If you eat a good healthy diet in reasonable quantities, you do not need to gain weight.
