Normally not!: It may later in pregnancy, but is is usually a mild or non-existent uptake very early during pregnancy. Insulin requirements will trend upward as pregnancy progresses!

Not reliable: Higher bs is not a reliable sign of pregnancy. Your level will fluctuate throughout pregnancy and typically requires more Insulin during the third trimester.
