High sugar risks: High uncontrolled sugars during pregnancy, whether in type 1 or 2 or gestational diabetes can cause many problems for baby and mother. Pregnant mother may have early labor, more infections, higher risk of miscarriage, problems lactating. Fetus may have birth defects, larger size causing delivery problems, low sugars at birth (causing brain damage), etc. Need to control sugars during pregnancy!
