A member asked:

Should a 15 year old have a pelvic exam

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on variables: With today's noninvasive medical devices like ultrasound & ct, the need for a manual pelvic exam is not as pressing. It is needed if the 16 yo is sexually active and has any signs of conditions related to that activity. If not active, most delay the pelvic to within 2 yrs of becoming sexually active or 21 yo.
