Ask for 2nd opinion: I'd recommend your mom to have a comprehensive blood work to include h pylori antibody, amylase/lipase to check for pancreatitis, egd/endoscopy to check for stomach, esophageal irritation or ulcers, stool test for blood or colonoscopy to check for colon polyps or tumors, .
