A member asked:

My husband came home from club, he smells cigarettes and went straigh to bad, a new born is sleeping in our bedroom two meters away, can it harm?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

2nd hand smoke: The presence of a smoker in the household increases the risks of crib death & doubles the frequency of respiratory illness including bronchitis and ear infections. Smoking in front of the child triples the frequency of these issues. Smokey clothes on a non-smokers will still affect a small infant.
