Space between...: It is the joint space between the thigh bone, leg bone and the knee cap which are held together by ligaments and tendons. It is lubricated with joint fluid.

Point Laxity: The knee joint has a certain normal alignment of the two bones that oppose to make the knee joint. Joint space can abnormally widen in response to mechanical stress that sprains ligaments of the joint, causing joint to become lax and with increased range of motion.
