Rotator cuff tear: Use a sling and Ibuprofen for pain. Schedule an appointment with an orthopedic specialist. May need an MRI to confirm diagnosis. Pulled muscle does not last for more than a week !

Get evaluated: If you have had difficulty moving the shoulder for that long, i think we can assume it is more than a pulled muscle. I would recommend an evaluation by a sports medicine doctor or shoulder specialist to determine a plan of treatment to get you moving again.

Frozen shoulder: Although rotator cuff disease is one of the most common causes of shoulder pain, being female and over the age of 40 puts you at risk for a frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis).

Not Simple : What is a "pulled muscle". We do not have this diagnosis in clinical medicine. Some doctors might diagnose "frozen shoulder", an unfortunate diagnosis because, to my mind, is one of convenience for doctors who do not know what the problem really is. You have a chronic soft tissue disorder. Possibly chronic tendonitis or thoracic outlet syndrome. See an osteopath or physiatrist expert & mri.
