No - Muscles Yes: The tooth removal does not cause a headache. However, if you muscles are in a spasm mode, they will cause a headache. If you cannot open your mouth the full amount , then you most likely have a muscle spasm and need to work to get rid of this spasm.

Postsurgical Pain: Absolutely. The extraction site can result in some inflammation after the extraction. Pressure and some surgical trauma at the site can result in pain for a couple of days which can be felt in the head area. However if pain persists after 3- 5 days after the extraction is possible you have a "dry socket" or alveolitis which is a common complication in which the healing process is disrupted.
