HF or angina: Angina is heart pain because not enough blood flow. This occurs with exertion, left sided pain that can radiate down left arm or to jaw. Heart failure symptoms come from fluid retention. There may be swelling in legs. Both cause shortness if breath, but in hf this is worse lying down. Chest pain in heart failure is fluid in the lungs a lot of the time.
