Infection: If it hurts to urinate, it could mean bladder or urinary tract infection. If it hurts to defecate, it could be anal fissure or hemorrhoids. Assuming that it is urinary pain, you need a urine test for infection. It could also be just irritation from catheterization of urethra during your surgery, but the only way to know for sure is to get a urine test.
