Yes for ulcers: Some people are allergic to the ingredients of mouth wash. A chemical burn can develop. Also the alcohol in most mouth wash preparations can dry out the tissues leading to increased susceptibility to trauma.

Usually not: Most mouthwashes contain alcohol and some people have a reaction to alcohol. You may want to switch to a non alcohol mouthwash and evaluate results.
