Use bioidentical: My "latest view" is that synthetic hormones are dangerous and rarely helpful. Consider having your saliva tested for levels (or both "free" and "bound" levels in blood), and using only bioidentical hormones for supplementation. Also, most people will benefit most from progesterone, rather than estrogen alone.

Disagreement: There are variable opinions about estrogen replacement. The real data about breast cancer risk was in a very specific population and included one specific estrogen/progesterone medication. Pt's on estrogen along actually did well, discuss w/your doctor, but make sure they haven't gotten their information from cnn or dr. Oz. If you use estrogen, use lowest dose and watch duration of therapy.
