Limited risk: Benefits are return of an elevated calcium to normal, if the problems is a parathyroid adenoma. The only risks are problems w/surgery like bleeding, infection, etc. Which are generally small. Best surgery is endoscopic if it's available in your area. Occ calcium can drop suddenly after removal, but usually normalizes easily w/calcium and vitamin d.
