Prolonged cough: How long has the cough persisted and is there still production of phlegm? Many of my patients are surprised to hear that cough after significant upper respiratory infection can persist up to 6 weeks! suggest meeting with your doctor if the cough is longer than 4weeks, to determine other potential causes of your cough not related to the infection concern.
