What is the normal range for blood glucose level?

Fasting 70-110 mg/dL: Ranges vary depending on purpose. Generally, a fasting level between 70 and 110 mg/dl is good. Non-fasting depends on the amount and timing of prior glucose load, but generally should be no higher than 180 mg/dl.

Blood sugar: Fasting glucose <100 mg/dl; 2-hour post meal <140mg/dl; and hemoglobin A1c (currently the test of choice) <6%.

Agree but: Agree with dr gupta, with exception that A1c > 5.7% may suggest pre-diabetes..
