A member asked:

If newborn with nas is scoring up and down will he come out of it on his own?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually: Nas scoring is a way to assess an infant for signs of drug withdrawal. A majority show signs 24--72 hrs after birth. The process of scoring, assessing & reducing medication continues until a newborn has ceased to have signs of drug withdrawal. Each baby can be different with stays up to a week or longer.
