Osteopathic eval: Sharp, relapsing pain (not pressure or burning) is most likely musculoskeletal.Muscle relaxants or NSAIDS may help, but if it keeps coming back, a good history & phys. incl osteopathic hands-on exam may provide some answers. You situation sounds like rib or intercostal muscle dysfunction.Manipulation could potentially help or even cure pain without meds.
