No...: The only effective treatment of gallstones is removal of the gallbladder, but this should only be considered if they are causing problems. The majority of gallstones are asymptomatic.

No : There is no proven technique to dissolve a gallstone. You may be aware that lithotripsy can be used "to break up kidney stones", but unfortunately, this does not work on gallstones. Also, i would recommend that a 22 yo female have surgery for gallstones.

Good question: About 20 years ago, oral dissolution of gallstones was tried. In fact, there is medicine available even now that works under certain circumstances. The problem is that this drug can damage liver and takes a long time to work. Shock waves to break up gallstones, just like kidney stones, were tried about the same time; it doesn't work well. So, surgery is a better option if she has symptoms.
