Self & Others: Like the advice on an airplane, you need to take care of yourself before you can help others or you'll help neither. Focus on stating your experience and your needs, with an i statement. Then, share how you'd like to work with them to solve the disagreement. Total self sacrifice prevents others from being able to care for you, which makes them feel good and grow closer to you.

Boundaries & Shields: Separating ur own feelings & needs from those of others can be very difficult. Growing up, u may not have seen adults do this much. But u can learn how. Think: people who work w/ dangerous substances wear gear that shields them from getting sick. U need a *mental* shield that will let u see others' emotions but will also keep u from feeling them urself. Find skilled therapist to help -one u like!
