Maybe Not: The swelling and flushing is a not so uncommon side effect of steroids. However, the burning in the mouth is a bit unsual. I would be curious what dosage of steroid you received. Steroids cause immunosupression and it is possible you have an infection in your mouth (i.e. Fungus or bacteria) causing pain. You could also be having canker sores. Check with your doctor who performed the injection.

Some Normal/Some Not: Swelling and Flushing can be normal and will resolve over time. Burning in mouth is not. See your doctor to determine what that's from.
