A member asked:

Exophytic cyst in the left adnexa likely arising from left ovary. where is this located? in the fallopian tube? and can it cause blockage on tubes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ovarian/paraovarian: The report suggests that the cyst is likely coming off of the left ovary. Exophytic means that it is not contained entirely within the ovary, so not 100% sure it is arising from the ovary. Paraovarian cysts can also be seen arising in the broad ligament between the uterus and ovary. If this was affecting the tube (which is unlikely) the tube would likely have been dilated and seen on the scan.
