Probably ok: You did not state if the blood sugar was fasting or not. Normal fasting sugar is under 100, normal after eating is under 140. The a1c of 5.3 is also normal. I would simply do a repeat sugar fasting.

Let me explain-no: <6 normal 6-6.4 pre-diabetes >6.4 diabetis i never use any single marker alone to determine whether someone has a blood sugar issue. I run a full blood panel that includes fasting glucose, a1c, fructosamine, uric acid and triglycerides (along with other lipids), and i also have them do post-meal testing at home over a period of 3 days with.
