No: Babies only need a medication like zantac (ranitidine) if they have gastroesophageal reflux disease. Most with simple vomiting/spit ups, do not have acid that is causing burning or discomfort, & so do not need zantac (ranitidine). Zantac (ranitidine) is an acid suppressant medication, not an anti-vomiting medication. It stops the acid that is causing the burning of the lower esophagus, which leads to the pain and discomfort.

No: This medication targets acid secretion (decreases it ) by stomach glands & has no effect on the rest of the GI tract. It is a relief medication, it can help baby rest better (& mommy too) by relieving the heartburn symptoms. If you & baby are doing fine without it, it's fine to stop.If screaming off/on all day i would use it if it seems to help.

Unlikely: But you can consider a probiotic instead or teas with chamomile, fennel, ginger, and look at dietary factors (sensitivities/allergies to cow's milk for example). I rarely use zantac (ranitidine) but would only consider if poor growth or pain is an issue.
