Correct: You are stretching. The pelvic joints are loosening from increased ligament stretchability from a pregnancy hormone called "relaxin". As the three pelvic joints become lax, the birth canal is enhanced for birth. Unfortunately, sacroiliac joint increased laxity causes pelvic neural plexus irritation, sciatica, & low back pain. Some women have joint hypermobility syndrome & pain similar to yours.
