Lactose is in Ur mlk: Repeated episodes of loose stools or your formula suggest baby is not tolerating that type.Human milk & regular cow protein based formulas both have lactose, so that alone is less an issue than other material in the formula. The cow milk protein intolerance may be an issue.Soy based formula may be a better choice or something else. Discuss this with your dr/food rxns should make it into babies rcd.

Diarrhea: Diarrhea also means weight loss and some signs of dehydration(dry diapers , sunken eyes, depressed soft spot) make a food diary , consider also fructose or sorbitol as possible.

Diarrhea versus milk: You have to be guided by md to make sure it is only diarrhea and not caused by milk or lactose intolerance. Diarrhea diet with no milk or juice etc will cure the simple lbm with soy formula . Repeated lbm with cows milk associated with abdominal pain suspect lactose intolerance.
